North Riding PCN: dedicated pharmacist support for a growing document backlog

Remote pharmacist document-management support helped two GP practices eliminate a backlog and release pharmacy-team capacity.

North Riding PCN

Document management support across two GP practices

The challenge

Two GP practices were struggling to manage a significant volume of clinical documents requiring review and action. As document volumes increased, pharmacy teams found it increasingly difficult to balance this work with their wider clinical responsibilities, resulting in a growing backlog.

Our solution

Working with the practices, we evaluated their requirements and arranged dedicated support from an experienced remote pharmacist. This additional resource helped documents to be processed promptly without adding further burden to the existing teams.

The outcome

The backlog was eliminated, easing administrative pressures and improving workflow efficiency. Pharmacy teams regained capacity to focus on patient care and other priority clinical activities.
